Mission


To ensure the health and welfare of the horses, the safety of the jockeys, preserving and promoting agriculture and preventing and eliminating illegal practices.

 

About Us


The Delaware Thoroughbred Racing Commission regulates and oversees the sport of thoroughbred racing in the State. In addition to their mission to ensure the health and safety of the horses, jockeys, and prevention of illegal practices, the Commission will ensure fairness in licensing and dealing with patrons.

Furthermore, the Commission will ensure that the State and betting public receive fair percentages of the wagering dollar by overseeing audits. Finally, the Commission is obligated to bring violators of Delaware law and the commission rules, and regulations to justice.

The Delaware Council on Gambling Problems offers confidential assistance to gamblers, their families, and those concerned about a friend or colleague.
